photos By the seashore

I have lived in Northern California my whole life, yet I have barely explored the Point Reyes National Seashore. Crazy right? Well I love the ocean and this area is the closet point of open sea to me, so I did some research on the beaches to better be prepared for photoshoots in the area. Now that I am prepared with information I am excited to go out and adventure around the seashore to find my new favorite photoshoot locations. I recommend you find your favorite beach to!

Here's what I discovered:

Limantour Beach

Said to be the prettiest beach in the Point Reyes seashore with it's long stretch of sand and golden grassy dunes upon entry. And you can drive right up to it.

Kehoe Beach

My favorite--Kehoe Beach is a secluded beach along the western face of Point Reyes National Seashore. You must hike down a valley on a dirt trail for a little over a half-mile to get there, but boy is it worth it. The sand is soft, there's beautiful green grasses that offer diversity along the entry way, and the waves are totally aqua. Also less busy than the others because it take a little hike to get there,

Drake's beach

Long open sand, some cliffy backdrop rocks, and you can drive right up to it. It's a bit more busy than the other beaches. The sand is also a darker grey, which I think may have something to do with it being a cove.

McClure’s Beach

Most northern on the PR seashore, super cool tide pools.

Heart’s Desire Beach

Clearest water, family friendly, protected cove, small beach with lots of greenery. It is the busiest of the beaches and you do have to pay $5-8 for entry.

Kelham Beach

About a 10mi roundtrip trek from the Bear Valley Visitor Center.

Sculptured Beach

So absolutely beautiful with rocky/cliffy surroundings and crashing waves, but it's about 8mi roundtrip hike via Laguna and Fire Trail by the Hostel.

North Beach

Another great beach, probably my second favorite. There's a bit of a steep hill hike to get down, but it's almost as pretty as Kehoe beach. It is a bit busier since you can drive right up to it. Seems like a favorite surfing spot as well.

At this time none of these images are my own, just sourced from Google, but I am excited to use this as a mini bucket list and add in my photos once I visit each beach!
